Does anyone else dislike the twist in the original movie?
It's a blemish on an otherwise perfect slasher, nothing at all implied that Axel was crazy/had underlying issues or a disdain for Valentine's Day. It's completely out-of-nowhere and creates a few inconsistencies when you think about it (in addition to just making "The Miner" less interesting). Even though not as good, I thought the remake did a better job at handling the reveal since it at least felt like there was some thought put into it (in a post Friday the 13th world, you'd probably expect Harry to be a supernatural being trying to get revenge on Tom by framing him...because why would the presumed protagonist played by the beloved actor possibly be a deranged killer?).
All in all, it's not enough to make me hate the movie (wouldn't be here if it did lol) but that does always irk me every time I watch it and wondered if anyone else felt the same.
