I have a pretty unconventional job. I run a party and entertainment business. We do a ton of different things. We have about 50 different inflatables. Everything from standard bounce houses, games, combo units (bounce houses with connected slides), and water slides.

Our largest unit by length is 100 feet long and 30 feet wide. It's a Human Hamster Track. People get in giant Zorb balls and roll around the track. The unit is massive and weighs about 750 pounds, it's a beast. Our largest water slide is 75 feet long and 24 feet tall at the launch platform (total height is 30 feet). It's also Massive and comes in 2 pieces, the slide at 550 pounds, and 250 pounds for the second piece.

We also have a full range of yard games, a whole 9 hole mini golf layout, foam cannon, corn hole boards, parachute, sack races, limbo, laser tag set up. As well as concession items, popcorn machines, snow cone machines, and cotton candy machines.

While the job is unconventional, the work is hard, demanding, and brutally hot in the Texas summers. I see pretty much every terrain you can think of, grass, mud, dirt, sand, gravel, and we occasionally even set up on asphalt or concrete. I lug these units on and off the trailer hundreds of times. Through all kinds of mud and muck. Think... turning on your water hose in the back yard for 8 hours, then try to pull a 600 pound unit that's taller and bigger around than you are.

Serious work requires serious footwear. All of my Nicks boots have come in clutch time and again. I never flinch at any terrain, or any conditions. I know my Nicks will serve me well. Structure, support, traction, and toughness. They meet any challenge and weather any storm I've thrown at them.

8 inch Steel Toe Wellingtons. Shackleton Cognac on the HNW last. Mini lug sole with a Quabaug heel. The Shackleton has been truly waterproof for me. I've had them submerged in water and ankle deep mud... always dry feet. I've even gotten rid of my old rubber boots I had in the work truck, I simply no longer need them. The Wellington is easy on, easy off. I have come to love them. They have yet to let me down at all.

Steelie Wellies... built for work!
