Daycare curiosities

Currently have a 3.5 year old in daycare, pregnant with my second, and so I will have 2 in daycare for a school year (September-June) because both husband & I are teachers. Everyone keeps saying to me, “you don’t really save money once one is done with daycare.” Curious, will the $1,100 dollars a month I am spending for my oldest actually go somewhere?
