Prusa BEAR y-axis stepper motor stopped working
Hey all, I have a Prusa Bear printer that’s based off of the Prusa i3 MK3 parts (I guess? I received this printer as a gift and it’s worked pretty well for about 2 years until now. I actually hate the firmware so if anyone thinks updating the firmware may help, please let me know. It’s a custom Marlin 2.0.7.2 firmware for the Prusa Bear mod. Again, I didn’t set this up so a lot of this is pretty foreign to me). My y-axis motor stopped working. I tried to troubleshoot it by removing the cable and plugging it into the x-axis motor but nothing happened. However, when the cable is plugged into the x and y axis motors, you can still hear that the motors are trying to do something. It’s like a little hum every time I twist the dial on the little control module.
I assume the stepper motor is bad because I have been having some issues with the printer homing itself. Now though, the bed won’t move at all. If the stepper motor is bad, what stepper motor should I get? The motor itself has the following printed on it:
LDOMOTORS.COM
0.9° Hybrid Stepper Motor
LDO-42STH47-168MAC #200427
I went to the website and it doesn’t appear you can buy directly from them and the photo for the stepper motor does not have the same 4-pin connector that my stepper motor has.
