Tiny GP Metro Rant

Preface: I love GP Metro. I do - they provide such a good service and I would be doomed without them. Affordable and, while I would wish for more routes/frequency, more useful public transit I've experienced.

HOWEVER.

I hate. I detest. I absolutely loathe the stupid Dirigo meters. Not the new ones with the big QR scanner that actually works - nay, the finicky, angled boxes that don't work half the audacious time. If you've one of their cards? Works fine and dandy. God help you if you've your phone to scan the QR-code in an idiotic game of 'align the thing and pray that the sunset/overhead lighting doesn't make you stand there for a minute and a half bobbing your phone up and down like a flamingo hungering for some fish-escapees' or one of those paper-slips with the selfsame issue.

I miss the monthly paper passes. You just show it, and bam, you're on-board, no problem. I miss the paper-punch with the transfer-papers. I know they had their own issues - could only get them at some locations - but it's a darn-sight faster than a line of people standing in the shriveling cold because some teeny-tiny scanner thingy doesn't want to WORK half the time. It delays routes by SO MUCH. The traffic already does that as-is! UGH!!!!

Love you, GP Metro. Hate your damn fare machines. Can all of 'em have the bigger scan boxes, please. Those actually work. ;v;
