Why did Project Hail Mary seemingly decide to reveal it's big plot twist in the Final Trailer?

When I first saw the trailer 7 months ago I thought it looked quite cool. And assumed it was gonna be something along the lines of The Martian. Nothing too wild just a bit of fun space scifi action. With your basic save the human race/world plot as it's backdrop.

The final trailer came out the other week and out of the blue it seemingly reveals a major spoiler that the main protagonist will encounter alien life and try and return it to earth and is most likely the key to the project hail mary mission succeeding.

What I don't get is why do this? To me this would be like the equivalent of say Sunshine revealing the presence of Pinbacker in the trailers completely ruining any surprise or suspense. Is the studio worried about the engagement or lack there of the film is getting? In hopes of it getting more clicks? I struggle to see the logic behind it.
