DBZ End of the Namek Saga had the greatest pacing ever seen in anime history, and im looking for more like it. Any pointers?
Many people miss the "in-between points" during anime in general, and high-stakes moments, so I really just want to highlight this moment in dbz myself since I rarely see people talk about it. There is a very specific pacing moment near the end of the Namek Saga, where Goku is already a Super Saiyan. Kami, the god of earth, communicates telepathically with the king kai from otherworld to bring about a plan to restore Parunga on namek by using the Earth Dragon Balls and Shenron's power to revive those fallen on planet namek by freiza and his men. The planet is dying, the eternal dragon Parunga is revived because the grand elder is revived, thunder, volcanos and fire tornadoes tear the sky asunder, Goku in the "throes of unfathomable rage" (Freiza's wording here, which is so cool and accurate), Freiza is fully powered up, Vegeta's haunting call out to freiza as he sees Goku in super saiyan form for the first time, freiza freaking out because he killed him with his bare hands...I know im hyping this up way more than we probably remember it. But this is literally what happens, and it was f****ng epic. This would be episode 51 in the Kai version. And although the first half of the episode starts slow, this moment was the best part in the namek series for me because it felt so climactic.
I'd really like to know if there are any other anime out there that can match or maybe even surpasses the namek saga moments like this. So far, nothing I think can compare but I want to be proven wrong.
