My untidy room makes my heart clench (unpleasantly)
TW for people with emetophobia/entemophobia/mysophobia because of small mentions
Hello. I've been feeling a tad unhappy with life in general and I've been slacking off quite a lot when it comes to tidying up my room specifically. I live with my parents and I have no problem helping around other parts of the house like sweeping the floors, dusting surfaces, vacuuming and mopping and whatever else is no problem at all. I have fun helping them out but when it comes to my room I genuinely feel dread. I'm not sure what makes me feel this way but it's becoming a real problem because I just can't seem to help myself. I usually manage to keep things in order by doing some tiny maintinance work each day but my clothes are now pilling up on the floor, chair, desk, the floor is dusty and my cat even threw up on my carpet yesterday - the cherry on the cake :') (I wipped her vomit off the carpet but it's still unclean) I got some dishes sitting around as well and a plastic bag I was trying to put the trash away in but now it's half way full and I havent picked it up again in a while. I feel pretty disgusting but I think in some weird kind of way I'm afraid of finding things I don't want to. When I imagine myself tidying my room up I can vividly picture me picking up something off the floor and like a bunch of bugs crawl out from underneath or I get contaminated with some weird kind of disease/infection or whatever. I feel like all my clothes are unclean and contaminated. It's so stupid, I know but I can't help it. I hope I'm not the only one who has these weird kind of thoughts and useless imaginative pieces which are hard to ignore. I wish I could blow up my room and sleep in like the hallway floor like a little peasant because anything seems purer than my bedroom.
note: Writing this from the living room because I can't stand being in my room rn hah help
