got prescribed clindamycin for abscess and infection under separate tooth

i’ve never been given this before, i’m used to amoxicillin (i’ve taken it about 5 times in the last 14 months for dental reasons) and i don’t have an penicillin allergy as far as i know. i don’t have an established dentist since my insurance isn’t really taken at this point and i can’t afford extraction never mind multiple root canals.

the side effects are terrifying. i haven’t taken it yet because of how scared i am. i understand the infection is risky but the side effects sound like they could cause a worse outcome. what would be recommended for any of this ?
