6 days till surgery and still trying to quit Zyn

Rant/Vent

Hey yall, trying to keep from freaking out too much. I kind of lied to my surgeon when he asked if I was a smoker because I knew he wanted you to be nicotine free 6 months in advance- I quit cigs/vaping years ago but ended up switching to zyn (somehow even lamer I hate myself for it). I also have been a daily weed smoker as well as drinking most weekdays, they said avoid weed and alcohol 1 week in advance but instead of being cold turkey off everything at once I devised a taper system lol- no weed starting 2 weeks in advance and no alcohol starting 1 week, and I’ve been able to do this no problem so far.

Nicotine is the last thing- I’m getting nipple grafts and know this is the single biggest impediment to them taking (even without smoking, the vasoconstriction from nicotine will fuck you up). And yet i’m really struggling with building up the courage to do this. I don’t believe I’ll be tested for it at any point but I’ve been telling myself 3 days in advance is maybe ok because all the quit smoking advice claims that’s how long it takes to fully leave your system, but I know the sooner the better as I absolutely cannot go back to it in the first few weeks post op.

I need to just rip the bandaid off and throw everything i have left out now but it just feels insurmountable right now. Not really sure where I’m going with this lol, but any advice or similar experiences are appreciated :)
