[KCD2] For whom the bells toll was incredible! (New player)
I just finished this quest and am in awe of how incredible it was. Some context, I’m new to KCD, did not play 1 and was prob not going to play 2 either except my friend convinced me to give it a shot. The result? I spent 50 hours completely engrossed with the open world before finally heading to the wedding.
The wedding was already so well done with how all our interactions with the world show up there. But this quest cemented the game as a masterpiece. Being on an actual time trial with the tolls, trying to save Capon and get to Thomas AND to add to that trying to find the miller’s book had me sweating.
Initially I was a bit lost as I started hauling the sacks, but then spoke to the blacksmith who gave me access to a bit more of the area and a lockpick, then helped a maid with it which gave me more access and then finally found the Chamberlain, passed his skill check which gave me even more access.
Now only a few people have access to Thomas, one of them being the Father so I figured it would be nice idea to steal keys from him but I also maybe stole a rosary or something from him and gave it to a guard named Jarek who was happy and took me to Thomas himself.
I found Katherine in the alchemy room and she told me about a chest with stuff where i found the Fever potion and headed back to Thomas by the 7th toll I wanna say? I was also trying to find the stupid book for the Miller so it took a bit longer but eventually I was like fk it, Hans needs me.
I didn’t even work in the gallows so I have no idea what would have happened there or if there are other ways to approach this quest? I guess it probably helped that I explored a lot before the wedding so I was at a pretty good level with speech and thievery, but either way one of the most memorable quests I’ve experienced and can’t wait to see what else this game has to offer.
