Im 16 so I'm sorry if this is really stupid and I know I should've known better than to do this but if im being honest, my mom has never really taught me properly how to take care of my teeth and what would be stupid to do. I haven't been to a dentist in years and back in October I saw this video of flossing with toothpaste to prevent cavities so I tried it with my BAKING SODA toothpaste. Absolutely terrible thing to do. My gums in between and under my six-ish front teeth now pull away a lot when I floss and I'm really scared that I could have periodontal disease or the damage is irreversible especially since I dont have a dentist. I bought a water floss, new toothpaste, therabreath gum health mouthwash, and a tongue scraper today because I finally have the money to work on my dental hygiene and im honestly terrified of dentists. Is there anything that I can do at home for it other than what I have listed?I also don't experience pain when flossing or bleeding which to me is a good sign that there isn't too bad infection, along with the fact that I haven't seen any gum recession yet and my gums are way less puffy/irritated now, but I don't know. I just want my gums to go back to normal without having to see a dentist.
