A little pick me up on how to let go for anyone who needs it during a breakup.
I know the pain of trying to let go of something you love or loved. No matter how hard you try, you feel like those memories can't be erased, and it's true they can't be, you lived in the moment, you experienced the moment and now the moment is stored in your heart. But isn't that the case for everything? After a breakup, everything seems hard to understand and all we want is closure, so I want you to read with an open mind because closure isn't always your answer. In every relationship, there's never one bad guy, (unless there was cheating/abuse involved of course), and we have to acknowledge that there will always be 2 sides to every story, and getting closure isn't always the answer, it means there's still feelings lingering, the true answer is letting go. The universe saw and heard things you didn't, that person is out of your life for a reason, breakups happen usually when something goes wrong, a person loses feelings, really anything if you think about it and we have to accept that there were probably more bad memories then good as much as your heart tries to revolt, you have to take the initiative to build lessons out of those memories, part of taking initiative to turn these memories into lessons is the stage your probably at right now, ruminating and trying your best to learn to let go, and for that I'm proud of you, it's progress, everybody goes through heartbreak in their life, for anything and everything, and I guarantee you once they let go they come back 100x stronger. Love exists in many forms, it's still taking me time to understand this but Love isn't always romantic. Letting go in terms of breakups usually means choosing yourself over the person. People have romanticized yearning, which I think is unhealthy, it makes you stick to the HOPE of a person, right now it may be hard, you really have to open your mind to understand, it's better to learn to let go because at least you have control over that, you don't have control over the other person and in reality thats 100% okay, that is life. Right now, reflect and grow, cry about it but also try your best to distract yourself in order to grow, everyone says this and yes I disliked this when I heard it but you really have to try. Even though you may feel horrible right now and can't seem to take the initiative yourself, time WILL heal you, it's what it does, nothing really ever stays the same besides THE LOVE FOR YOURSELF. We have to realize that IF THAT PERSON WAS REALLY MEANT FOR YOU THEY'D STILL BE HERE. All in all, letting go is choosing yourself because that's who we have at the end of the day. Learn and grow and don't forget you are not alone in this, (I mean just look at this feed).
