She's My Angel - "February Submission"

Psychological Horror

Her voice is like silk in my ears every time I hear it. Her name is Angela. I call her Angel. She’s my Angel.

I have a reminder set on my phone for her weekly uploads even though I don’t need it. I know exactly when her next episode will be up. Friday morning at 8am on the dot. Every week. A shame honestly I could listen to her so, so much more.

She’ll talk about news stuff, mostly pop culture, talk about movies and books, especially romance novels. Her favorite thing though is to read fan stories of their lives. She’s read dozens of mine, though I’ve had to use different names otherwise she wouldn’t have read all of my submissions.

When I get to the office my coworkers are always on about “Happy Friday!”. Oh happy Friday indeed. I have the most beautiful girl in the world in my ears and I plan on listening on repeat until I punch the clock. I know she’s beautiful even though I’ve never even seen her or a picture of her. No one can be as sweet and perfect as she and not be gorgeous though.

And before you think I’m some creep, she knows me too. She’s read so many of my stories and comments, liking them and thanking me for my support, to which I always respond with a sincere “You’re welcome Angel.”. We even spoke on the phone once one of the rare times she was doing fan call ins. I could barely contain my excitement when she picked up the phone and said “Thanks for being a fan! What do you have to say.” Hearing her voice speaking to me not just about other stuff made my body tingle from head to toe. We talked for over 5 whole minutes. I made her laugh! That almost made me topple over. I had to sit down. I tired not to breathe to hard but listening back I didn’t do the best job, a little embarrassing but no matter. Because I made my Angel laugh. I’ve left her so many voicemails since then telling her how special she is and how much she means to me. I know she listens to them and feels loved and appreciated.

I have mixtapes of all my favorite moments too. Lists on Instagram and TikTok of all my favorite posts of hers. She can really be so witty and funny but also sound so serious and smart. Ugh! I love her.

I’ve practiced what I’d actually say to her when we meet in person so many times. How does this sound?

“Hi Angela. I’ve thought about you every day since I listened to your first episode. When I first heard your voice I knew it had to be. I could be everything you’d ever need! Remember when I called and made you laugh, we have so much in common you and I. If you’d like to go out with me then maybe we could learn how much more we have in common.”

Maybe a little strong but the ladies love it when a guy gives chase right?

We really would be so happy together. I could make her happy. The happiest girl ever! We could even do her podcast together. It would be so much fun!

Sometimes I like to talk along with her and pretend like we're having a real conversation. Sometimes it flows so smoothly it’s like we almost are. Now I’m not crazy I know we’re not actually but if you heard it you wouldn’t deny we have great chemistry.

That’s why I’m so excited to meet her!

She’s coming to my home town of all places. She’ll be doing a meet and greet with some other podcasters, friends of hers. I’m going to get all dressed up and pick her up a big beautiful bouquet of pink roses (her favorite) before meeting her face to face.

I already have everything ready for her. After I ask her out, I’ll take her to all the best spots I know. She loves feeding ducks and cute little ice cream shops. She’s adorable isn’t she!

Then I’ll take her to her favorite retailer, H&M, honestly I don’t get that one but I’ll of course do anything for her. Then her favorite food for a nice romantic dinner, we’ve got a great Italian place in town. Finally I’ll take her home where I have “The Summer I Turned Pretty” (her favorite movie) ready to go with a warm fuzzy blankets and a whole bag of Cadbury mini eggs, her favorite candy. All of her favorite things will be my favorite things.

I even took the opportunity to purchase a couple microphones. The exact one she uses now. I made a nice cozy little studio. So she doesn't even have to leave. It has a nice comfy love seat with two end tables the mics connect to. A mini fridge, water cooler, blankets, pillows and stuff to do. A computer for looking stuff up and a TV. There’s even a bathroom attached. It took me months to build it.

I’d never done anything like that before but I heard her say she liked a man that could work with his hands so I set out to make myself into that man. It was quite the learning curve though I’ll tell you. Did you know that you can’t just drill concrete anchors into concrete? You need to roto hammer a pilot hole first. After that the studs and frame. Pretty easy actually the hard part is finding enough straight 2x4s at your local Home Depot. Then framing the doors and laying down plumbing for the bathroom. I mean a lot goes into a toilet, a sink and a nice jacuzzi tub. She said she thinks those are so luxurious and romantic since two people can fit in one so easily. I can’t wait for us to try it out together. The electrical work was a little tricky. That took a lot of trial and error and I almost electrocuted myself a few times but in the end we accomplished the task. There’s practically a whole studio apartment in my basement now.

It’s perfect and I know my Angel will love it. Just like she’ll love me. We’re going to have such a wonderful life together.

I have to end it there, it's almost time to go and I need to make sure I have time to iron my clothes first. Angel respects a sharp dressed man. I wonder which episode I should listen to on the way.
