For parents of toddlers who won’t drink water

My son is a year old and has never accepted a cup. He also won’t take a bottle at all in the daytime because he’s breastfed and just comes to me if he is thirsty.

I can no longer take how upset he gets while pooping, and how frequently he gets constipated. So tonight I said screw a cup. I mixed a little apple juice into some water and syringe fed it to him. It took a few tries, but once he realized it isn’t medicine and doesn’t taste bad, he got all happy and kept wanting more of it.

I am so relieved. Someday he will drink from a cup, but for now, this will have to do.

Just sharing for anyone else in my situation.
