Extreme heavy periods after laparascopy. How long will this go on?

Question

I had my laparoscopy back at the beginning of December. Found stage 1 endo, literally just 3 1mm spots that they "lasered" off (I'm assuming that means an ablation, but laser was the only term my surgeon would use for it, even when I asked about ablation vs excision and what they would be doing. He seemed reticent to use the term ablation, but made it seem like it was because it was the wrong term for it, so I don't know for sure). He did mention that the very small amount didn't seem to add up with how much pain I have been in and said its probable that I have adenomyosis as well.

Since then I've had 2 cycles, and both have been absolutely gruesome in the amount of blood and clots I've been having. I've always had very heavy periods (filling overnight pads in about 2-4 hours depending on the day) and now, I basically don't go anywhere for the entire week because even with an overnight size cloth pad, period underwear, and often 2 layers of clothing besides, I've still been known to bleed through all of it within an hour or 2. And the clotting is quite excessive as well with passing a large one (like the size of a half to a full tablespoon usually) basically everytime i stand up.

I have read that your periods can get worse for the first couple after a laparoscopy so I'm just curious if this seems normal or should I try contacting my doctor/surgeon about this. If it is pretty normal, how long was it like this for you?
