Postpartum Fitness
Hi all, I’m looking to hear from women who were relatively slim before pregnancy. I’m 5’1” and was about 110 lbs pre-pregnancy, around 132 lbs at delivery, and now at 2 months postpartum I’m about 115–116 lbs. My body shape mostly looks back to baseline in clothes, but my stomach still feels softer and my hips seem wider. I’m not breastfeeding. For those of you who started out on the slimmer side, how long did it take to get back to your regular weight and feel like your body shape was truly back to normal? Did your hips stay wider permanently? And what, if anything, helped with the overall soft feeling — was it just time, or did strength training or core work make a big difference? I’m not trying to rush things, just hoping to get a sense of realistic expectations from others’ experiences.
