Is the x270 worth it in 2026?

Question / Problem

Translated post, sorry for any inconsistencies🫡

I'm looking for a ThinkPad, but my budget is limited. My biggest problem is that the cheap and attractive ThinkPads have BIOS passwords, and I'm a high school student. There are ThinkPad T480, T490, and T495 models within my budget, but most have locked BIOSes. I could take it to a technician if one in my area could unlock it, but I doubt it; there's nothing like that here. I'm from Argentina, and not being in the center of the country limits my options. This is my last year of high school, and I'll be starting work immediately afterward to get a better laptop, so I think I should go for something cheap. I need it for studying cybersecurity and browsing the internet. I'll mostly play light games; at most, I'll play Rainworld with my boyfriend or CS 1.6. I plan to use FreeBSD as my main operating system. Do you think an X270 is sufficient? I suppose I'll use it for something else when I buy another laptop... How much lifespan would it have now?
