Obligatory "Promoted To Customer" Post

Experiences

After 3 1/2 long, sometimes painful, years and 4 stores with GameStop, I have clocked out for the last time. I found a career advancement opportunity in another company.

I'm writing this still in the parking spot in front of the store. All the memories I've made, the family I created out of coworkers and regulars alike, the new skills and techniques I learned... I couldn't be happier, truly. I always told myself this wouldn't be a career, but it still hurts so bad having to leave my store team behind but I have the support of everyone I was working with as I move forward and I could not possibly be any more appreciative for it.

Yet somehow, despite the AWFUL business decisions, the demanding expectations, the annoying GSTV ads (Disgaea 7 was the worst), DM emails and conversations about performance, and the general pains of retail, I feel like I'd work here again in a heartbeat if I had nothing else.

Power to the Players.
