Louisiana. Septic pumps directly to a ditch along the road. Is this normal?
Septic tank in the back of the house had a gravity discharge line that went to the ditch alongside the road. It wasn't draining due to poor sloping of the gravity drain pipe, so the one and only septic company in the area installed an overflow cistern that fills and then pumps to the ditch using an electric pump.
All of my neighbors have the same type systems. My concern is that I always have a ton of discharge water in my ditch and my neighbors rarely have any. Can someone help me understand why this may be.
Septic company said it is not legal in many other places, but it is still legal here.
