[OS] I built a macOS menubar app that shows your GitHub PRs + Actions in real time

Free

I built a small macOS menubar app called PRBar that shows your GitHub pull requests and their GitHub Actions status directly from the menu bar.

No browser tab jungle. No switching between repos. Just quick visibility.

What it does:

  • Lists PRs authored by you
  • Shows draft/ready status, repo, updated time
  • Displays latest GitHub Actions result (success / failure / running)
  • Lets you open a floating always-on-top monitor window for selected PRs
  • Auto-refreshes on a configurable interval
  • Supports personal + organization scopes
  • Token stored securely in Keychain

The goal was simple: reduce context switching and make CI failures impossible to ignore.

It’s built with Swift + SwiftUI and uses the GitHub REST API.

CI/CD builds a macOS release on every tag.

It’s early but usable.

Feedback, feature ideas, and brutal honesty are welcome.
