Power amp

So Ive been enjoying my preamp pedal based on the mark series preamp, but I’ve been thinking about a tube power amp to push it. I see a lot of people building hand wired amps and was wondering if trying to build like a 50 watt power amp with presence and density controls super difficult? I know it would be easier on my wallet, being on a fixed income and being able to buy components little by little. But would you guys rather buy a cheap amp like a crate and just go into the fx loop or a try and get a rack power amp or would you rather build your own?
