Broke up due to ex-partner not wanting to move

hey I need advice on coming to terms why my partner would not want to move with me. i know they wanted to stay to support their family who recently moved, but they were willing to move further away in the scanrio they had to move for a job. it felt really shocking as they were such a great person. probably the best person in my life. they did not know much about dating, and it was their first relationship.
