need help w portraits!! (re-upload)

hii!! i have no clue if im using the right flair i apologize if i am not!!

so the issue that i am having is not really with structure i dont think. Of the portraits that i draw i am pretty good at proportions and sometimes i use a ruler to make sure they’re exact. My issue is with it still just not looking right and i just go over it and make it look worse when i realize it doesn’t look right. I want my art to look more like my references not hyperrealism or anything tho.Any tips? i’m really stuck and discouraged, i practice all the time and it seems to just lead me nowhere.(re-uploaded to add work examples)
