The reason why the All-Star Game isn’t what it used to be

is as simple as it is unfixable. In the old days it was one of the only opportunities to watch some stars on national tv. I am from Europe, so it was even more extreme. I taped the 2001 game (coincidentally one of the best ever) on VHS and must have rewatched it a good 10-15 times.

Nowadays you can watch every game, highlights, the stars are ubiquitous. Its just another game now.
