Does this count as sensory issues?
Hi, im in the process of getting an assessment, but i still didnt get one yet, and I've been suspecting ASD.
I've been reading a lot and doing research, and im confused. most people seem to describe sensory issues as like painful. like actually *painful*. like someone described it as "cheese grater on my nerves." But that's not how i feel, and now idk if what i feel is normal or counts as sensory issues.
for me, it feels like something is bubling in my chest like it wants to get out, and i can't sit still, and i want to scratch my skin off. lights and loud noise do cause me headaches but not all the time. lights mostly when it comes to headaches.
also, when like its the start of a school day, and they turn on all the lights. seeing bright lights makes it feel like im seeing everything too brightly and too much, and i can't think clearly. It's like i have to squint to think, like there's blurriness in my brain. It feels like a buzzing in my head. It's not the noise, but the feeling of light feels like buzzing. (not the sound of the light, but the feeling of light is like buzzing)
I've always explained it as extremely uncomfortable and makes me want to cry. i don't think I've ever called it painful. idk if that's a true depiction of what im feeling. To me, painful is like hitting your head or stubbing your toe.
sorry for rambling :'>
