Lee and Clementine is better then Joel and Ellie
I am a big fan of The Last of Us Part I, and I’ve been for quite a long time. I remember playing it in 2016 on the PS4 when it was on sale, and that’s when my love for TLOU began. I finished the campaign countless times and played a lot of the online mode.
However, I recently played Telltale’s The Walking Dead for the first time, and man, what an incredible experience. But something made me think: I appreciated Lee’s relationship with Clementine much more than Joel’s relationship with Ellie. It felt like Lee and Clementine had a stronger father-daughter bond. I genuinely cared about what might happen to Clementine, so I was constantly talking to her to see how she was doing. Overall, I liked Clementine as a character much more than Ellie (not considering Part II). I’m not sure if it’s because Clementine was much younger, but I developed a paternal feeling toward her — something that never happened when I played The Last of Us.
At the end of the campaign, I felt extremely depressed because of Lee’s death, even though I already knew he was going to die due to the bite and his skin changing color. I was also really worried about what Clementine’s life would be like afterward.
In the end, I came to the conclusion that a perfect game would have TWD’s story and TLOU’s gameplay.
