Did I fuck up my oil? It was going so well until… HELP!

AskTrees

So, I was making a coconut oil infusion. Decarbed 21g of flower, and added to 210mL of coconut oil. (They have a low tolerance so was aiming for 20mg/1mL approximately)

The extraction went as normal, but when I was struggling to get the last 10%~ of the oil from the plant matter I made a janky setup in the oven with the sieve on top of a Pyrex measuring jug, and I had the jar of oil on the side of the tray, as the oil has sloshed around so I was trying to get it to sit even and level.

I had been doing this entire process at 75°C-100°C until the last 30 minutes, I stupidly and accidentally turned the temp up to 150-170°C for 30 minutes.

It dried (and burned) the extracted cannabis and had the last 10% of the oil in the Pyrex. The other jar of coconut oil was simply sitting next to it… I’m wondering if that 30 mins at such a high temp will have ruined the oil, the extraction was basically finished and the jar was sealed inside the oven.. I think the last drops of oil I got from the herb are definitely over cooked, I’m just hoping and praying that the bulk of the jar wouldn’t have reached a high enough internal temperature for long enough to have too much degradation.

What do you guys think? Did I just wreck 3/4 of an oz, or is it not gonna be so bad? Maybe just a ton of CBN if I am really lucky? Anyone got experience of heating up already infused oil?

It’s for a friend, for pain relief, and I’m really hoping it’s not completely ruined.
