MHBP standard - labs are much more expensive than BCBS

another “switched from bcbs to MHBP (standard)” frustrated post. I have some specialty issues that require several additional panels of blood tests past the standard physical screenings. With BCBS all of my panels were all less than $10 out of pocket. Now with MHBP standard, even with an in network provider and going to Labcorp, my patient responsibility is more than 10x the amount it was for BCBS for the exact same tests at Labcorp. The strange thing is that I would have expected maybe some charge for some of my specialty tests (which include some hormone tests), but MHBP also charged for standard routine tests (like CBC, metabolic panelc etc) thats usually completely covered with $0 due.

I read the full benefits brochure in detail before making the switch and was under the impression that standard screening tests done at Quest or Labcorp should be fully covered.
