How do people even get addicted to this stuff ?

All it does is make me fall asleep if I lay down and close my eyes for more than 5 min (1mg or more) then I wake up 3-4 hours later i usually cant even tell when the moment it hits. What's so appealing about this? I've seen people act like its a legit drug and seen them act almost drunk like and get super super addicted to it like its heroin. What gives ? Is it supposed to be like gabapentin where your supposed to take 300mg every 30 min and fight the drowsiness until you feel high?

I litteraly feel like gabapentin causes more of a "high" than xanax does
