Distro selection

I am wondering what the best distro to start out with would be i am going to dual boot with windows to play games, but i was wanting Linux to work on coding and other nerdy stuff. I have seen lots about fedora, but it seems to be a more complicated distro. I am a very learner but i was wondering where to start with on learning the command line of Linux. thank you for your time and consideration and help
