Question from a past interview

Hi guy so I had my first interview which I somehow passed but I had a question which I’m not sure how I should reply to (this one I thought I messed up along with many others but surprisingly I still passed)

So basically they asked like what would I do if my roommate was drinking in the room, because obviously like there are rules n stuff and you can’t drink in the room etc. but like, what would I do?

I wouldn’t want to take on a stance like oh I’ll go tell staff or smt cuz let’s be fr being so quick to tell on someone is not a great trait, but I also can’t be like oh yeah it’s fine. I feel like I could’ve said something like the safety of people come first so if no one is hurt then…. Then I don’t know what to say

You guys know what I mean right? Like what are some ways I could’ve replied. Since it’s over I just want to hear some other opinions
