RIP Hannah Henry

I’m honestly gutted hearing about the passing of Hannah Henry and hadn’t seen it posted here. She wasn’t just another name on a race sheet she was the kind of athlete who made people want to push harder just by watching her compete. two time NCAA champion. Strong, disciplined, and relentlessly driven. She was murdered by a junkie high on fentanyl.

By all accounts she trained with purpose, raced with courage, and carried herself with humility. The sport lost someone who still had so much left to give.

It’s also impossible not to think about the risks athletes take every day, especially on the bike. Cycling in America shouldn’t feel like rolling the dice with your life, yet far too many riders know that fear. Training for excellence shouldn’t require accepting danger as part of the routine. No athlete chasing their goals deserves to have their story end this way.

My heart goes out to her family, friends, and everyone in the triathlon community who knew her or was inspired by her. The miles she covered, the races she fought through, and the determination she showed will be remembered.

Rest easy, Hannah. You pushed hard, you achieved so much, and you mattered.
