About the upcoming feedback survey
I wanted to make this post as a compilation of things that I (and part of the community) care about to serve as a reminder in case other people also don't know what to put in the survey or just forgot over time about the things they would've liked to give feedback on.
Warning: post turned into a bit of a yapper so yeah. I used some highlighter tech so you little babies with the attention span of a 3 month puppy can pick up on the most important information (or try to excuse it saying reading allat would be a "waste of time" like you're not already on reddit anyways).
I'll separate things in 3 sections, but all of them will be just as important: small things that should be easy to implement, big things that might take more effort but would still be worth it, and Ark Grid which is self-explanatory - and I won't include unrealistic things like engine upgrades and so on.
Small things:
- Weekly rewards: add a silver chest to the weekly rewards of AT LEAST 200k per exchage (max 600k per week per character). Even then it won't be much but it should help. (Put both breaths in one selector chest, makes no sense why they're separated). In line with that, people also seemed to want shards in the weekly rewards, but I don't know how many should be appropriate. Also, 1 weapon quality per exchange or 1 ability stone per exchange are so few, I don't think anybody is or should be taking those, I would up them by 3x.
- Collectibles: expand the Arkesia Tour to include almost everything up to Kurzan and Rimeria. Almost nobody is interacting with old content anymore, and some necessary things are still locked behind them. I get that it will feel bad for people that have spent a lot of time going through the effort to do them so far, but if somebody wants to get even an epic, let alone a legendary purify rune for Kazeros HM, they have to spend dozens and dozens of hours doing the most boring shit that could possibly be in a videogame (like killing the same weak ass mob a few hundred times to cook a SINGLE food) in order to get Ignea tokens and so on. Sea bounties are the main thing people complain about, because you need to do sailing missions or adventure islands which are co-op and time-gated to get some of them, but I think everything should be touched on.
- Mokoko event: we get that it's "good" for new players, but it's a trash event overall, the exchange shop feels more like an apology for how bad it is. It's plagued by alt rosters and it enhances gatekeep, even to mokokos. It's just a glorified forced bussing event in exchange for tokens instead of extra gold. P.s.: just today I already saw two posts on reddit from mokokos (looking at you idiots who talk about "l only ever see veterans complaining instead of mokokos, never actual mokokos") talking about how bad the event is.
- Add more/better things to the solo/gold shop: I think I saw a comment saying Stoopzz was already talking to AGS about this, and I honestly don't have many ideas on what they could add, but I wanted to put this here to remind others which might have better ideas.
Big things:
- Dungeon lockout system. This shit needs to go. It pushes so many players away from the game, specially new players. If people didn't have to worry about missing out on resources because of jails, people would gatekeep less, because worst case you'll just have to do gate 1 or 2 one more time if you can't find another party; the game would be less stressing, everyone would have a much better time, and the people wanting to play more with the same characters could do so as well. For the love of god, fix this yesterday. This would also be a bandaid "fix" for all or most of the DC problems. I've seen too many instances of people DCing right before a raid clears and getting absolutely fucked.
- Alt rosters. Controversial (or maybe not, and all the downvotes are botted from RMTers) but they gotta go too. All my homies hate alt rosters. They are the vast majority of afks/griefers and RMTers which ruin the raids and the economy for the rest of the people respectively. I know there will be a number of takes about this and people saying I'm wrong, and I won't spend the time to try to debate stupidity on reddit, so I'll only provide this example: if RMTers and bussers got crippled (90% of weekly bus clients are alt rosters), exchanging royal crystals for blue crystals would be the main way for whales to get gold, so their supply would increase and therefore their price would drop considerably, instead of the absurd 17k per 95 we have nowadays. Overall gold would also decrease from just having less accounts running gold raids, so the economy would deflate too. Anyway, no debate.
- Life energy. Why are we roleplaying as slaves? This shit is another of the most boring things this game has to offer and it is actually mandatory, much more so than collectibles. You gotta get rid of it somehow. The stronghold already has a life energy system in place, so make it so that you can put your tools in there to increase efficiency, and make their craftables tradeable too if needed or whatever, figure something out. But having to do half an hour of pressing G two days a week is so fucking ASS.
That's all I can think of right now, let me know in the comments if I should add something. Now...
Ark Grid
I'll skip the rant on how bad this sytem feels because it's already been reiterated many times. Instead, I'll provide some insight. I have simulations on the current jewel (astrogem) system to study what the best methods are, so I can modify them to see how potential changes would affect us. For example:
- Currently, rolling an epic jewel with 3 rerolls available, yields 19% chance of >4/4 on willpower/order, 4.75% of 5/5 willpower/order, and 0.038% of a perfect jewel (0.15% to get 5 on all sides, so divide by 4 to get correct side stats for your class).
- If we ONLY remove the -1 options, these chances increase to 29.5%, 9,2%, and 0.122% respectively. Already fucking insane to see how dogshit the system currently is, because these chances are still piglow and they're already 3x better than above.
- Now, if we also remove two of the other bullshit options, namely the one that doesn't do anything and the one that increases the cost, these chances further increase to 34%, 11.25%, and 0.215%, as well as the avg. gold of cutting an epic jewel going from 8100 to 7300 (mostly because the -100% cost reduction option is still there).
- Finally, if we remove all other options besides the +1/2/3/4, which are arguably just as useless, without touching the weights at all (+4 is a 0.45% chance to appear), we get: 67.5% of >4/4 on willpower/order, meaning the jewel is at least usable for activating some 14p or even 17p depending on the base willpower (reminder, you still have to pay 8100 gold on average to roll each jewel and you still need the cores); 35.5% to get 5/5 on willpower/order, meaning the jewel is the best it can be for activating cores and getting those 17 or 20p (provided you have the relics or ancients); and still only 4.2% to get a perfect jewel, meaning 5 on all sides, already accounting for the fact that only 50% of jewels have matching DPS/DPS or SUPP/SUPP and there's a "50% chance" that you get either on your DPS/SUPP class. Some of you
clownsI meanSmilegate pole bouncersI mean people who have already been groomed and brainwashed by KMMO and gacha systems might think "wow, this is such a high chance, it's not even fair, we'll finish this in no time". Buddy, 4.2% means you need 24 EPIC jewels before you get ONE perfect one, for ONE of each SIX cores which each need FOUR jewels, in ONE of your characters. Of those 24, since I removed all the options that change the side slots, you would at least be able to skip the ones that don't have correct sides (and use for fusion or whatever), so you would only need to roll 6 of them, but that's still 50 thousand gold and you still need to get 24 epic jewels, even if you discard 75% of them. So, 50k times four, 200 thousand gold spent per core, and 96 epic jewels seen. Times 6, 1.2 million gold, and ~600 epic jewels seen, per character. I don't care about bullshit arguments that "it's too strong, gives too much damage", and I'm sorry to break it to you because if you thought something like that you are actually in the IQ double digits - they can literally just drag one slider up a bit and increase the next raid bosses HP to compensate. It doesn't matter how much damage a sidesystem actually gives in terms of game design, because it's mandatory anyways.
So yeah, in terms of jewels, it's almost like having no additional bullshit options would've made the system nice and fair to begin with, and those additions were to milk the playerbase and keep them frustrated... Anyway.
In terms of cores, I think we can all agree that we want epic cores removed. That should increase pity to a more reasonable degree for 1700 and 1710 characters. Maybe also improve the weights on relic and ancient cores in the HM raids too? It sucks so bad when you finally get a relic or ancient and it's a fucking support option, so maybe remove that too, or something? Although I don't really have much hope for that, because lightning fury and necromancy still exist in the game. Also, I'm pretty sure the pity selectors have like only a 10% chance for an ancient (correct me if I'm wrong), so it's like 3-4 weeks of waiting on a 1730 character (of which I personally only even have one), to try to get an ancient core to finally be able to fit in more useful jewels and get more out of it, and then it's just a relic core which is just a 15 pity refund. It's so ass. It should be like a 50/50 imo, it's already a fucking pity system man.
Alright, I think that's it. I'll check on the comments for a day or two to see if there's something I forgot.
Extra yap (optional) so I don't have to make another post (tinfoil hat on):
About the silver drought, I'm somewhat sure it was calculated. Every change so far looked like a god-given gift "oh, we can finally use silver instead of gold for accessories blah blah blah I just got a high-mid and saved 300k!!!" but then they start removing or nerfing silver sources and all of a sudden most of us are struggling to even hone characters because we got sucked dry (in game). It's almost like they intend(ed) to make silver another actual currency with actual value and demand, just like gold, and if that is the case, I fear the game might be fucking doomed unless those plans get scrapped...
