Why not much love for R5 Metas?

I'm looking at a pair of open box R5 Metas.. Seems like they are not really "the choice" amongst the enthusiasts. It's been very few and far in between that I've read posts about them. Any reason, any insights as to why? Resides the obvious R3 Meta competition in the "similar" price bracket? Which, even for that angle, I'm still not sure why R3 Metas would be superior to R5 Metas. (excluding the limitations on space & physical/aesthetic issues for having a pair of towers.)

Just really curios. Do we have anyone one here who have/have had the R5 Metas - but did not like them? If so, what was the issue?
