Stop Replacing Airbag Modules Automatically

If airbags deploy, most shops immediately order a new airbag control module.

That’s not always necessary.

In many cases, the module is not damaged.

It’s just storing crash data.

Clearing crash data (when appropriate and legal) is very different than replacing the unit entirely.

For rebuilders, blindly replacing modules can burn margin fast.

Before ordering a new module, it’s worth asking

Is it physically damaged?

Or is it just locked?

Huge difference.
