My settings for a Legion 5i Pro 16IAX10 83F3 (255HX – RTX5060 – 32GB-6400Mhz – 2TB KC3000 SSD) to be only warm and fast for apps

Advice/Other

Hi

I’m not a gamer and my goal was to have a fast but warm laptop for my knees and longevity, instead of a toaster and a jet turbine. The only heavy app I use is a photo editor.

  • In the Bios, I set AC loadline to 100. Default is 110 and we can’t set a lower value. I let DC loadline to its default (100).
  • With ThrottleStop, in FIVR tab, I set an offset of -60mv for both core and cache
  • In LLT (Legion Toolkit) I set a custom profile with
  1. Long term power limit 65w
  2. Short term power limit 78w (at 80w I get a little 2% throttle using AIDA64 stability test)
  3. Long term power limit 65w
  4. Short term power limit duration 20s
  5. CPU Temperature limit 92°
  6. GPU with Dynamic boost set to 0, TGP 65W (sufficient for me), Temp limit 80°, Total processor power target in AC: 66w (to avoid trigger, but I’m not sure if it’s correct or necessary)
  7. Fans with normal curve with the latest 3 steps set to 80%

In a 26° room I’m having an idle CPU u/44°. Running Cinebench 26 multi-cores gives a CPU u/72-74° and a score of 6150.

It’s probably possible to get something better but I’m ok with that.
