Shiny odds for Legends ZA

I'm having a hard time believing the base shiny odds in this game are 1/4096. While playing through the main story, I found FOUR shinies (2x Pidgey, 2x Bunnelby). Granted, I was spending time filling out my dex and completing side missions and therefore had a lot of spawns, but that still seems like quite a high number for 1/4096 odds. Then just after finishing the main campaign, I was working on the Yveltal quest and found TWO shinies on top of each other -- a Weedle in a tree and another Bunnelby hopping circles around said tree. What is going on? Am I missing something? I haven't looked up what boosted shiny rate mechanics are in this game yet. Are the base odds truly 1/4096 ?
