Some loves don’t end _ they simply turn into longing.

Alone I sit, the shadows cling, my weary soul needs something to drink. The silence hums, my heart does sink, I long for warmth, a fleeting link.

I wish you hadn’t kept her quite so rare, For when a life is lost, only longing stays there.

Had her shadow not lingered deep in my heart, I’d never have saved love as something set apart.

The wish to meet you still breathes, quietly true_ Had you died back then, I’d have let go of you too.

A single dream has chased my sleep away_ If this were you, would you survive the day?

What if one simply died, and peace was found, If the madness to possess you hit the ground?

If love remained_or quietly disappeared_ Had forgetting you been easy to achieve, the heavens today would bow beneath my feet.

Even love’s own meaning would not linger here. So what if one just died, and let it be? The flood that ruined my heart’s garden free Might never find its way again to me.
