Thinking about how I tried to “match energy” with everyone as a kid
When I was a kid around elementary-middle school I would always try and match the behavior of people around me. On my own I was always quiet and kept to myself but if I was sat next to loud people, I would then try and be extroverted, things like that. It caused me to say some really dumb things I didn’t really understand the time but I cringe at as an adult.
As I grew my ability to mask completely disappeared and I’m kinda unable to be anything but myself. I still feel weird about others emotions as in if someone in my house is sad, I get stressed, or if someone is really excited I also feel excited or awkward.
