35[M4F] unappreciated and losing hope
Hopelessly searching for something.
Maybe it's you?
I've been here before, thought I'd try it again.
I'm 34, EST timezone. Married, father of two small children. I have a professional career that I'm passionate about, as well as a side hustle that brings me joy. For awhile now, I've been feeling unappreciated and unseen in my own house - it's not a great feeling, especially knowing I do not deserve it.
I wish I could say I did deserve it, maybe if i was one of those checked out dads who come home after a long day and leave their dirty boots in the hallway, shoo the kids away and boot up a videogame for the next 5 hours without lifting a finger around the house - but that's not me. I finish my 14 hour day and immediately start my real job as a husband and father. Walking into a warzone with a. Smile, greeting my family with nothing but love and proceeding to determine what everybody else needs. Wife needs a break? Check. Kids need something to eat? Check. Dirty dishes in the sink, not a problem. I'll take care of it all without a single eye roll or a huff. It's what I signed up for and it's what they deserve.
But why do I feel so lonely? I feel like I do the lion's share (not that I'd ever say that), and I don't expect praise or rewards, but it all just goes completely unnoticed, and it kills me.
I'd love to find someone who can maybe relate, or something who finds joy in making the unseen feel seen, appreciated.
I'm 6'2, shaved head, big beard, pretty good physique for someone who's primary source of exercise is chasing kids (my own) around. Plenty of interests and hobbies that keep my mind wandering and a new hyperfixation every few weeks. I'm big into horror, scifi, trash tv. I'll watch anything. I'm an avid outdoorsman, and I'm good with my hands. I can grind a good rpg with the best of them, but I adore cozy simulation games. I'll match your energy, and then some. I'm not afraid to send multiple messages in a row, and you'll always receive a message to wake up to in the mornings.
If any of this resonates, reach out. I'd love to chat. Nerdy moms to the front.
