I’m in love with this lace gown but I’m stuck between choosing a nude underlay vs an ivory underlay.

The dress I tried on in-store (last two photos) is definitely the nude underlay, and I love how much it makes the lace pop. I’ll be wearing the veil made by the same designer and lace pattern with the dress. It feels like a bold and untraditional move though which is making it hard for me to commit. I need to order by 3/1, as it’ll take serval months to make and return ahead of my 9/26 wedding. I’m getting married in Rome and in a catholic church so this dress feels romantic and modern. I don’t really see myself as a stark-white bride, but part of me wonders if the ivory underlay would feel more classic/timeless long-term.

There wasn’t an ivory underlay sample available in the showroom, so the only reference I have is the first two photos of flash photography showing it come out more ivory even though it’s the nude underlay. With flash photography, it’s also kind of hard to tell the difference in some of the photos, which is making this decision feel bigger than it probably should be.

For brides who went with nude underlays

Did you still love it in photos and in person on the wedding day?

For those who chose ivory

Did you feel it softened the look of the lace or made it feel more traditional? Did you feel like it still made the lace pop?
