OJ conversation “too painful”?

I’m on season 6 and Kyle has just decided to invite Kathryn and Faye to her party (how could that go wrong lol). But Faye keeps talking about how “painful” the OJ trial was for her. Did she not write a book and profit on her “best friends” death? I don’t understand Faye at all. If I’m missing something please feel free to point it out!
