Is it OK to ask someone if I intimidate them?

I'm male presenting, tallish, deep voice, big beard. I try really hard to act appropriately and non threatening not because I desire the opposite but because I've scared / intimidated people in the past without realising. Is asking this question ok or does it come across strangely?
