I think I cracked the code to my Period
Hello, let me start with the fact that I've had horrific period pains since I was 16; Vomiting, Numbness, Nausea, Heat waves, body cramps, dehydration (You get the idea). And it's been nothing but a living hell for me every time my monthly comes around. I took vitamins, ate certain foods, nothing was working. I eventually got on depo (the 3 month shot) and it just entirely stopped my period and that was the most relieving months of my life.
I stayed on depo for like..maybe 3 ish years? And would continue with it more but I was told women are developing cancer from it so I stopped. And then my period came back with a vengeance. I honestly didn't know what to do, doctors are unreliable, even old school grandma recipes don't work. So I did what I could, the last option was to just drink tea everyday until my period and it worked??
As an adult women, they tell you that your diet heavily effects your period. Unfortunately I didn't see a change with a healthy food diet. Until my mother got me a teapot for my 21st birthday awhile back and I just got around to using it. So I made myself nice hot tea everyday. I put honey, lemons, cloves, Louisiana tea bag and a green tea bag mixed. That's all I drank besides water for an entire week until my period came.
I knew it was coming because I was getting the subtle aches, but now that my period is here the pain is.. well, what I would consider the most relief I've ever hard on my period. I could actually will myself to move around more, work on my content, etc. I've never had my period not actually physically abuse me. Everybody is different and clearly mine needs hot tea?
For most this might seem like a trivil but I call this a victory. No more missing work days, no more cleaning out vomit trash cans, no more fevers, for once I can actually enjoy my day with my period. I'm definitely going to keep a healthy diet regardless, especially as a growing woman who's only 90 pounds. But I did want to share my experience with the girls, this what helped me. I am not claiming this is a remedy for EVERYONE because it's not. The remedies that I was given by doctors and other women did not help at all but this did.
So I urge you, if you're someone like me, keep looking for your period remedy until you find the right thing your body needs. And maybe down the line my periods cramp will stop altogether, naturally.
(Do not take my discussion post as medical advice, this is a shared experience I wanted to share as a woman to other women. In no way shape or form an I claiming to be a professional about periods, but just another victim of its pain.)
