Driving advice getting back to Reno

Need some advice - I'm in Truckee, flying out of Reno Tuesday AM. When should I leave?

I've got a rental SUV, no chains.

Was originally planning (pre weather forecast) to ski Northstar on Monday and drive early Tuesday but all these comments are dire.

So should I leave Sunday night? Monday morning? Am I already screwed?

Would it be better to drive to SFO?
