Anyone else have a constant sense of urgency when there is no need for it??

Let's discuss

So I’m in my early 20s and ever since I can remember, I’ve always had this intense sense of urgency that can make it difficult to relax.

Even this Sunday morning I’m noticing I’m trying to rush through breakfast, rush through tasks, and I’m pausing and asking myself why am I in a rush? There is no rush right now. I have had to practice lately noticing when I am irritated because I’m trying to rush through a task and ask myself why I’m trying to rush. It’s okay to slow down, to take my time, nothing is going anywhere right now. I don’t have anywhere to be today, I don’t need to do anything quickly. Yet I have this sense of false urgency I’d call it anyhow.

I’m really happy that I’ve began to notice this moments in myself as their are happening and take a moment to tell myself to pause and ask why I’m trying to rush a certain task and if it is needed. This was happening just now as I was eating breakfast so I reminded myself it’s okay to take it slow, to relax, to rest and enjoy it.

Anyone else feel this way with most tasks even without any actual urgency? Like they just feel this pressure to rush through it all even if there is no reason to have to rush through? How do you cope with that feeling ?
