My stepdaughter got a septum piercing

My stepdaughter got a septum piercing behind our back. She’s 15 years old. It’s been 4 months and I noticed the hole getting bigger like I am able to see the other side of the hole where light shines it. It’s almost pencil sized. We’re very worried about this. The tip of her nose appears to be longer. Is this possible? She said it’s fine. Will the nose go back to how it was if she stops putting things inside?
