Re-entering the States 2 days before the visa expires

I am a Master's student with an F1 visa. This was supposed to me my final semester but due to a family emergency I had to take a leave of absence. I will return to the States for the next fall semester but my visa will expire this summer. My earliest admission date will be 2 days before my visa expires. Is it safe to use my visa so close to its expiration or should I renew it?
