I am worng or them?

Today, I went on an outing with my college mates. I am the type of person who observes everything, so honestly, whenever we go to a new place, I know the route, culture, or local things better than them. Today, when we were out roasting each other, others started saying that I act like I know everything. Honestly, they got angry, etc., and yeah, honestly, I even acted like I took it for fun, but eventually, I didn't. Then I let them lead me, and we ended up on the wrong route. Honestly, I knew that was wrong, but my ego was like, "not today." After we got to the wrong place, I told them the correct route, and they were like, "If he said it, it must be correct." And then they come to a new place if I come just because of safety. But this honestly hurt me. Am I that bad a person? Do I act superior, etc.?
